Mr. Ewing

Hello!  Welcome to my Classroom Webpage.  I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Brad Ewing and I am a native of Southern Illinois.  I was born, raised, and reside in Eldorado, IL.  I am a graduate of Eldorado High School. After High School, I pursued and earned a BS in Elementary and Special Education at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale.   This is my fourth year at Pope County Elementary.  I enjoy many activities such as: golf, baseball, basketball, traveling, and Genealogy.

Take Home Folders

Every Friday I will send home your child's graded assignments in his/her take home folder.  This folder also serves as a method of communication between home and school.  In the "Notes" pocket, you may receive or send a note via the take home folder.  Please return your child's take home folder to school every Monday.

Reading Sight Words

Each week I list the sight words on the board.  We review the blends, diagraphs, and dipthongs in each word every day before we read the story.  I will try to post your child's sight words each week so that you may practice at home, as well.  I teach three reading classes and each class is designated a certain color.   I will post your child's list in the same color so that your child will be able to identify his/her list easily. We take an oral sight word test each Friday.

Spelling Words

Like my Reading classes, I also teach three Spelling Classes.  I am going to work very hard to post your child's spelling list each week so that your child will be able to access his/her Spelling list at home.  Your child's Spelling list will also be color coded for identification.
